The Friends of Guiseley School Fundraising Group

The Friends of Guiseley School Fundraising Group is open to school staff, parents, carers, grandparents and other relatives, ex-students and interested members of the local community.

The group raises money through the Weather Lottery and through events such as the annual Quiz Night.   In 2009 we donated £5000 to the school for the sixth form IT suite.

We would welcome new members.  If you would like to get involved please give your name and phone number to school reception and we will get back to you.  Tel. 01943 872315 Email info@guiseley.leeds.sch.uk

The Friends of Guiseley School was formed in 2009 and encompasses the role of the former Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Guiseley School Trust.

The Weather Lottery

If you would like to support school through the Weather Lottery please click on the logo on the home page.

The Sunshine lottery costs £1 a week with 4 chances to win £10,000 and 35% of sales going to school.

The Lightning Lottery costs £1 a week with 1 chance to win £25,000 and 60% of sales going to school.

All money raised from The Friends of Guiseley School Weather Lottery is used to support the school.

Regular Giving Scheme

May we offer you a warm welcome as Trustees of the Guiseley School Trust. We are sure your child will benefit from the excellent education provided by the school. The purpose of the trust is to bolster the hard-pressed financial resources of the school, which has a programme for improving and expanding its existing facilities. With the Trust’s help, and your support, it can do more.

A scheme of regular giving is at the heart of the Trust. This is a simple scheme, which continues on from the Deed of Covenant scheme – you make a gift under the government’s Gift Aid scheme. For every pound you give, the school will receive an extra 25p from the HM Revenue & Customs, plus an additional 3p Government supplement helping your donation go further. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80 if donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make and it doesn’t cost you a thing! In fact, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can even claim back £2.50 for yourself through your tax return.

Last year the trust funds were used to provide prizes to support the positive behaviour system to further encourage learning. The trust also funds the cost of the school minibus, which was replaced last year.

If every parent in the school made a monthly banker’s order of just £2 this would make a huge difference to the work that could be carried out to improve the facilities the school can provide for your child. You can of course make the banker’s order for any sum you choose. Regular givers last year paid between £2 and £20, the average being £5 a month. Please help us by completing the a banker’s order and Gift Aid declaration form and send it along to the school.  This form can be downloaded via the "Letters to Parents" link on the menu bar.  If you need further information please contact Cathy Beaton (Director of Administration & Finance) in School.

With many thanks in anticipation of your generosity.
